How the leave payout is calculated

Leave payout = basic monthly salary ÷ 30 × unused leave days.

For a basic salary of AED 6,000 and 15 unused days: AED 6,000 ÷ 30 = AED 200 a day, × 15 = AED 3,000.

Working out your unused days

  • Under 6 months of service: no statutory leave has built up yet.
  • 6 to 12 months: 2 days for each month worked.
  • After 1 year: 30 days for each year, plus a share for the part year.

Take away the leave days you have already used. The “work out from dates” option does this for you, but your HR records are the final word, so compare the two.
